Read your portfolio like a weather forecast

Read your portfolio like a weather forecast

Nobody can tell you exactly what the weather will do in three weeks — yet we all glance at the forecast before a trip. We don't expect certainty. We just want to know whether to pack an umbrella. Your portfolio deserves the same calm, practical habit.

Forecasting vs predicting

Predicting means claiming to know the future: 'the market will fall in October.' Forecasting is humbler and far more useful: 'pressure is building over the banks, and you're heavily exposed there.' One pretends to know what happens next. The other tells you how prepared you are for whatever does.

Your daily forecast, in three readings

  • Conditions: which forces are calm and which are stormy today?
  • Exposure: how much of your portfolio sits under the clouds?
  • Outlook: is your overall risk rising or easing from yesterday?
You don't need to predict the weather. You need to know if you're sailing into it.

That's the whole idea behind PortLens. Not a crystal ball — a telescope. We don't tell you what the market will do. We show you exactly where your ship is positioned, so you can decide, calmly, whether to adjust the sails.

See it on your own portfolio
